…which might go without saying because I think that is pretty much a prerequisite for opening an ice cream shop. But anyways, back to nostalgia... growing up I loved going to our local scoop shop to celebrate a big win, a reward for good report cards (or mostly good), or riding my lavender huffy bike with friends to spend some pocket money. To me, childhood summertime tastes like a cinnamon waffle cone (hear me out on the cinnamon) with blue moon ice cream *chefs kiss*

Fast forward to now... I live a few blocks from Joy Ice Cream Social with my husband, two Joy Boys, and Gertie (IYKYK). I really wanted my kids to be able to create those same core memories and have a safe, nearby spot to hang with buddies... or at least that's what I'm telling them. What I'm really excited about is creating a welcoming space for our community of parents, neighbors and friends, to gather / socialize and create joyful memories together. Because if we've learned anything recently, that's what it's really all about... see, there  I go with the nostalgia again!
